March 27, 2008 Gananoque, Ontario - Cheques can be used for more than just financial transactions. A new series of cheques will help keep the memory and sacrifices of Canadian war veterans in the public eye, while providing funds for programs that assist our veterans and their families.
ASAP Cheques, Forms & Supplies of Gananoque Ontario has worked with Dominion Command of the Royal Canadian Legion in Ottawa, Ontario to produce a series of cheque designs which honours war veterans. The first design, "Field of Crosses" is available today directly from ASAP Cheques, and through their Credit Union and Caisses Populaires partners.
"Every time someone receives one of these cheques, they will see an image and a message reminding them of the great sacrifices and price paid by the service men and women serving Canada in times of war and peace/index.html, said Al Read, spokesperson for ASAP Cheques. "And a portion of every order goes to the Royal Canadian Legion to use in various programs that assist our veterans and their families".

"We are very pleased to partner with ASAP Cheques on this project. We look forward to the financial assistance that this project will help to earn in supporting our programs and activities", said Jack Frost, Dominion President.
The Veterans Memorial Cheque series will be launched at a special ceremony scheduled for 27 March at 1:30 PM at Legion Branch 92 Gananoque, 55 King Street east. Area Legion Presidents, senior officials and elected officials will be in attendance.
As with the rest of their product line, a French version is available as well.
